[The Golden Rule] - Respect. Treat your fellows with common courtesy, and do unto others as you would unto them. Everyone is equal within this FC, community and Discord. Nobody is above this rule. This goes for the community as well in general, everything you do reflects on our FC and our friends. If you wouldn't say or do something around your friends or family, then don't do it to other people.[No toxicity] - Racism, transphobia, homophobia, sexism, ableism are not welcomed here. Anything that is discriminatory or abusive towards others even in the form of "jokes" are out of the question. Do not do it.[Keep NSFW in the designated area] - Invictus is a strictly 18+ FC. NSFW imagery, writing, or graphic discussion of sexual content is to be regulated into appropriate NSFW channel, if something is potentially triggering, please spoiler it with a brief description or warning of what someone might be clicking on. Jokes, light-hearted humor and normal discussions of NSFW things are acceptable but please maintain an air of comfort at all times, if someone asks you to stop, then please stop. Period.Consent is major, and the use of other people's rooms for certain scenes must be with permission first, unless otherwise stated by the room owner, and anything that happens in private must remain so in your private space.

[Communication] - This is something I, myself, sometimes struggle with and it's only human to do so. But if you have a suggestion, concern, or problems? Please reach out to an officer. I want to make it as clear as possible that we're here to work together and smooth things over. If something happened with another player? Reach out to us. The last thing we want is for people to feel like they can't talk to anyone of us out of fear of being reprimanded for bringing something up. Disagreements happen, and while we may not always get along - the goal is to maintain the ability to help sort out those issues, apologize, make up and work together.Within that line, keep in character issues and out of character issues separate. If you feel things are getting too heated, or are hurt due to a scene happening with your character, reach out. If you're not having fun, that matters and we can talk about it together. Additionally, when communicating and working out issues, remember to be kind in your interpretation of other's words, it's easy to assume malice or hostility in someone's tone or actions, when it might not be the case at all. Expecting the worst and actively turning a conversation into a combative argument can make resolving disagreements difficult to do, and makes for hurt feelings all around.

[Roleplay Standards] - God-modding and meta-gaming is strictly prohibited. You cannot force other characters to take actions they did not make or be one hundred percent invincible or immune to everything. You are expected to be considerate of other player’s characters and stories in that regard. There is no “one quick button fix” to anyone’s plotlines or issues. For meta-gaming, what you know out of character is not what your character knows. Honest mistakes will happen but specifically abusing out of character knowledge to gain an advantage is prohibited.As an additional note, lore-bending is acceptable, but anything strictly outside of the universe and canon of FFXIV is also prohibited at this time. Additionally, conflict is likely to happen in character at times, during disagreements, or high-stakes moments during campaigns. That’s okay! Remember to reach out if it is starting to become too stressful to you and to not actively combat your fellow players out of character. Conversely, it’s not okay to use in character actions to convey your out of character frustrations. Remember the distinction between OOC and IC, and be kind first and foremost.[Content Standards] - Etiquette and behavior are important even when doing content, together and alone! We are certainly an RP FC first but that doesn't mean we don't do content together and that means we have to address behavior when doing so. /Always/ be respectful of a person's experience level and skill when doing content, if they ask for slow pulls, oblige, if they need a fight explained take the time to do so.We want everyone to be comfortable doing content here regardless of your skill level, playing the game is fun and we want to make sure you have fun playing it together. This is /not/ a top level raiding environment, no one here is some God Gamer Above All that will judge you and flame you.The goal here is to be learning and having fun together, we have players of many different skill levels that can help with that learning as well so don't be afraid to ask the 'stupid questions' the game itself is bad at teaching you to play it so we are more than happy to make up for that! Conversely, remember that when others make suggestions while doing content with you, they’re not doing so out of malice or hate towards you. They’re trying to help! Remember the points of communication and try to not assume the worst.

[Real Life Comes First] - We're here to have fun. As a rule, real life > roleplay. If something is too stressful, if you need to step away, if you need someone to come and help take over for something? Ask for help. We are here for you. If you need a break? Go ahead! Do not worry about inactivity or times where you can't play, we'll be here for you when you get back. This is the most important rule of them all. Roleplay and games are a hobby. If anything gets too much, we're here to help.With this said, if you do plan on taking an extended leave we have a #leave-of-absence channel. You don't need to into details about your leave, and if anything further needs to be explained, you can reach out to one of the officers.
